Jon and Torey met in 2004 during their first year at college. Against Jon’s advice, Torey gave up his major in economics and joined Jon in pursuit of film studies. And, so began their partnership as filmmakers.
Their first collaboration as a directing-duo took them to Rwanda. Their short documentary film, ‘A Generation after Genocide’, explores the past, the present, the redemptive power of sports and the human paradox; that out of grief can come joy.
Over the next decade, Jon and Torey honed their craft as visual storytellers. Emotional truth resonates throughout their work, with an emphasis on finding empathy in unexpected places. Spots for Infiniti, Facebook, Google, Chevy and Hyundai are full of dynamic compositions and glimpses of meaningful, intimate moments.
With numerous One Show Pencils, Cannes Lions and Clios to their credit, Jon and Torey are passionate about advertising, about the ever-evolving space where art meets commerce, where stories have the power to shift perceptions and beliefs.
Residing in Los Angeles, Jon and Torey hail from the great white north. Their collaborative nature, affection for hockey, poutine and maple syrup are a testament to their Canadian roots.
