    Growing up, Eric Appel confesses to being "that kid from school that always forced you to watch the dumb videos he made in the woods with his friends."  

    His career began as a writer and performer with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Eric was the original head writer for FUNNY OR DIE, where he began directing short films with top talent such as Will Ferrell, Olivia Wilde, and Aaron Paul.  His film “Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout” with Taylor Lautner was certified “Immortal” with over 2 million hits. Eric has directed episodic television for shows like Silicon Valley, New Girl, The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also wrote and directed Son of Zorn, a series which he co-created. 

    Eric’s commercial credits include Heineken and Smirnoff with agencies such as Wieden + Kennedy, Pereira & O’Dell and BBDO.
