Fantavious Fritz is a Canadian born writer, director, and photographer.
Growing up in Calgary, he attended film school in Toronto. Fantavious’s short film, “Paradise Falls,” was selected as one of the top 10 Canadian films of the year in 2013. He has been recognized by TIFF as part of Toronto’s burgeoning DIY movement in cinema, and his film “Good Boy” premiered at TIFF in 2018. In 2020, his short film, “August 22, This Year” was selected for the 59th edition of Cannes Semaine de la Critique.
Spanning narrative, music video, and commercial genres of filmmaking, Fantavious’s work has garnered awards from festivals around the world and commissions from high-profile clients, such as Stella McCartney and H&M. His work for CNN with Figliulo & Partners sparked conversation ahead of the midterm elections.
Fantavious has worked with some of music’s most celebrated names, including Drake and Tyler the Creator, in addition to Toronto-based artists like Kaytranada. His direction of “Work,” for musician Charlotte Day, earned the Grand Prize at the 2018 Prism Prize Awards. In 2017, he was shortlisted for the Young Director Award in Cannes.
Other recent work includes Expedia for Team One and Berkshire Hathaway for BBDO.
