Will Speck and Josh Gordon met at NYU Film School and immediately bonded over a love for the same movies and a vague sense that the world was out to get them. So, they decided to work together.

Their first post-graduation project was a short film the duo co-authored, “Culture.” It starred Philip Seymour Hoffman and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Among their early stand-out commercial projects were spots for Levis that they co-authored in collaboration with BBH London, and which won 4 British Arrows including Gold for Best Campaign.  Their work for Geico, including the launch of the “Caveman” and “Gecko” characters, was a collaboration with The Martin agency to develop the iconic characters. The campaigns swept the top award shows from D+AD, to The One Show and Cannes Lions.

Commercial work includes an Amazon campaign out of Droga5 London and a PSA for Donate Life starring Thomas Jane and Will Arnett. Their PSA for Prop 8 stars Mike White and Justin Long garnered top awards for direction and copy writing. Speck and Gordon were co-authors of the Prop 8 PSA. A WWDC launch film for Apple stars Bill Hader. Motorola starring T.J. Miller, Century Link starring Paul Giamatti, and the Emmy Nominated Web series “The Power Inside” starring Harvey Keitel for Intel/Toshiba.

Their first feature film was “Blades of Glory” produced by DreamWorks and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films. It starred Will Ferrell, Jon Heder, Will Arnett, and Amy Poehler.

Their second film “The Switch” was based on the short story “The Baster” by Jeffrey Eugenides and starred Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, Jeff Goldblum and Juliette Lewis.

“Office Christmas Party” was produced by DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures. Starring Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, T.J. Miller, Olivia Munn, Kate McKinnon and a whole bunch of other talented people.

Josh Gordon and Will Speck have signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment to write, develop and produce feature films and tv content. The news comes in the wake of their feature take of the children’s book "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" starring Javier Bardem.

Will and Josh are currently in post-production on the second season of the Marvel Animated Hulu show, “Hit Monkey,” which they co-created, wrote and serve as executive producers on as well as directors. They are set to direct “Colosuss” based on the Aftershock Comic series as well as “The Oregon Trial” alongside Benji Paske and Justin Paul. On the TV side, they’re developing a psychological thriller series with A24 and Zachary Quinto attached to star.

Speck and Gordon’s work taps into the emotional and psychological depth of their characters, always with humor, on our often unlikely life journey’s to happiness.
