    Bio

Armed with the practical know-how afforded by a B.A. in Art Therapy and Practice from Northwestern and an M.F.A. in Painting from UPenn, Ted Pauly found solace in the arms of MTV’s On Air Promos department. When he began writing and directing image campaigns for the channel, a new career was born.

In 2018, Ted Pauly was chosen as one of nine top comedy directors by Shots/Source Creative.  Through dark, slow-motion scenes of Vladimir Putin supporters, white supremacists, and rich country-clubbers expressing their excitement under our current leadership, “Happy” puts a hyperbolic spin on the underbelly that has been exposed in our modern political climate.

“Climate Name Change,” with Barton F. Graf,  garnered top awards from Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, and many more – in addition to landing Ted on Creativity’s Ten Most Awarded Directors list for that year.

His commercials include films for Toyota, Ad Council, Snickers, Verizon, Volkswagen, and Chevy.  He has worked with agencies such as BBDO, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH, Venables, Bell & Partners, and Anomaly.
