Will Speck and Josh Gordon met at NYU film school and immediately bonded over a love for the same movies and a vague sense that the world was out to get them. They decided to work together, recognizing that, when it comes to taking on the world, two is better than one. In the years that followed, their work has expanded in scale, scope, and tenor, as they’ve effortlessly co-conspired to develop an encyclopedic understanding of cinema, borrowing and/or satirizing genre conventions.

Through it all, their process remains undergirded by the Swiss precision of their comic timing and their endless appetite for pushing themselves (and their viewers) past their (our) comfort zone. Name an award, they’ve won it. “World’s Biggest Asshole,” their PSA for Donate Life, garnered 10 Cannes Lions alone.

An early co-written short featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman scored them an Oscar nomination. Since then, they’ve brought their proprietary mix of dry & outrageous wit to the big screen, directing “Blades of Glory,” “The Switch,” “Office Christmas Party,” and “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” while also moving into series animation, co-creating and writing “Hit Monkey” for Marvel and Hulu.

Speck & Gordon are attached to direct the Nicole Holofcener-penned adaptation of "The Wedding People" for TriStar and "The Chaperone," starring Jason Bateman for Netflix. They are also developing the Lucas Brothers' scripted adaptation of "The Oregon Trail," based on the classic 80s video game, for Apple.
